Senior Mechanical Engineer required for our ISF Project - immediate start. Must be able to supervise a team of Engineers and monitor all disciplines of mechanical works related to all FM Contracts
Department: Operations and Maintenance
Reporting to: Senior FM Manager
Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical discipline
4-year degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
o Minimum 15 years' experience in mechanical maintenance of large projects with a high concentration in facilities management experience
Minimum of 10 Years at Senior Engineer level
Good knowledge on operations and maintenance of pumping systems, air-compressors, air-dryers, vacuum pumps, calorifiers, Chillers, Air-Handling Units, Fan Coil Units, Precision Air-Conditioners, heat exchangers, pressurization systems, water filtration systems, water tanks, grease recovery system, mechanical and electrical hoists and fire systems such as sprinklers, hose reels, detection systems, pre-action sprinklers and FM200 etc. in accordance to the fire safety requirements. Design knowledge on pumps will be an advantage.
Excellent Project management Skills involving Developing a Project Plan, Manage Deliverables according to the plan, Lead and Manage the Project Team to achieve the Project Objectives.
Working knowledge on Fire Safety Standards as required locally by QCDD and NFPA.
Working knowledge on ASHRAE, BSI, UL and ANSI
Good report writing skills for submission of Technical evaluation, Cost Benefit Analysis and recommendation proposals for improvement works.
Team player and able to lead a team of Engineers and contractors.
Interpersonal, initiative, analytical thinking, decision-making and leadership abilities.
Good command of spoken and written English
Able to meet tight deadlines
Computer literacy (e.g. Auto Cad, PRO-E, MS Office)
KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enforces and adopt safety measures among the project team members and contractors.
Prepares Project Scope for all types of HVAC/Mechanical/Plumbing works related to Building Management and Utilities.
For any project or improvement work, prepare scope of work, liaise with contractor for cost, submit recommendation to client and manage the project at site for closure.
Responsible for contributing to overall project objectives and specific team deliverables
Manages specific project plan activities and contributes to project plan development in collaboration with Department manager •
Coordinates documentation, testing, and training efforts related to project plan
Effectively communicate project tasks throughout the organization
Prepares Project budget, persuade Management for approval and manage project effectively within the budget
Establish the resource requirements and manage the staffing according to the plan
Manage subcontractor in their works and ensure their works are performed at the desired level of quality, standards and complete in target time.
Analyze data from CAFM and liaise with contractor for continuous improvement.
Assist in providing information and updates on on-going maintenance works to customer on routine basis.
Assist in preparation of standard operating procedures (SOP’s) for the maintenance of site equipment
Check periodically for potential areas for energy savings opportunities.
Assist Department in conducting regular systems audit
Perform proper documentation and filings of maintenance records.
Perform emergency support duty, if required
Responsible for implementation on various types of improvement works.
Able to work independently and under pressure.
The package is as follows:
Basic - QAR9,000 - 11,000 (Based on experience and current salary)
Accom – Free In shared villa or Live-out Allowance provided
Transport to/from accommodation – (no allowance if live out)
Flight Allowance per month to home country
NOC required if located in Qatar
